This is the last day of Paryushan of Jain devotees and is celebrated as Samvatsari. Paryushan starting from 12th day of Shravan Vad, and ending on 4th day of bright half of Bhadrapad month is considered the most important festival of Jains.
These eight days of Paryushan are considered the most auspicious days. Jains begin their day with Pratikraman in early morning followed by various poojs and prayers. Pratikraman means turning back. It is a form of meditation called Samyika where one reflects his spiritual journey and renews his faith.
On the day of Samvatsari annual Pratikraman ( literally introspection) is performed and all Jains seek forgiveness from all creatures of the world whom they may have harmed knowingly or unknowingly by uttering the words Micchâmi dukkaḍam. िम��छामी दुक्कादम
